ITE College Central is one of the Institute of Technical Education's three Colleges under the "One ITE System, Three Colleges" Governance and Education Model. It moved into its current premises at Ang Mo Kio in December 2012, together with ITE Headquarters. This third comprehensive College covers a land area of 10.61 hectares with a total gross floor area of 192,820m2. It opened its doors to its first cohort of students in January 2013. Positioned as "A College of Creativity and Innovation", the campus was opened officially on 8 November 2013 by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. ==History== Originally the ITE College Central schools are located at Bedok, Bishan, MacPherson, Tampines and Yishun until December 2012. Currently; the MacPherson and Yishun are being demolished to make way for condominiums, Bishan became St Joseph's Institution and Tampines became a commercial building; while Bedok is being converted into a FIBUA village.
